Pick the right week, fly to Greece for half

How much can the right week save?

About half. In August 2026 we compared the fares we found to Greece with the same trip on other weeks: same departure airport, same Greek airport, same number of nights, leaving up to two weeks earlier or six weeks later. Most of our fares cost around half as much as the weeks around them.

The month mattered less than you might think. Deals leaving in August, September and October were all about as far below their neighbouring weeks. What made the difference was picking the week.

Where the deals went

Corfu was the cheapest island, and Thessaloniki on the mainland was cheaper still. Cephalonia had the lowest typical fare. The big names were not expensive either: Santorini, Rhodes and Kos all turned up among the cheapest.

Where they came from

Milan, Rome and Stockholm had the cheapest fares to Greece; Copenhagen, Oslo and Amsterdam the dearest. Part of that is which routes we search from each airport, so read it as a pattern, not a ranking.

If you fly from…

Each region got most of its best deals from one airline, at one time of year:

• Vienna: Ryanair, mid-October.
• Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich or Zürich: Condor, late August and early September.
• Paris Orly: Transavia, October.
• Milan or Rome: Ryanair, late September and October.
• London: the most routes, but the smallest savings.

These dates have mostly passed, so treat them as what to watch for next year.

How to find your week

1. Fix the length of the trip, not the dates. Search the same number of nights across several weeks, for example with the date grid or price graph on Google Flights.
2. Compare weeks with each other. A week that costs far less than the weeks around it is the signal. The first price you see is not.
3. Watch the airline that serves your airport. Budget airline fares swung the most in our data.
4. Add the bags before you compare. Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz Air base fares don’t include a checked bag.

What our data can and can’t tell you

• These are deals Vollarie found, not all fares to Greece, and the routes depend on the airports we search.
• We kept one fare per route, the cheapest, and counted a city’s airports as one route. Each comparison still uses the fare’s own airport.
• “Other weeks” means the median of the cheapest fare on each comparison date, from any airline. It is not a route’s normal price.
• We cap savings at 75%, so a few routes may have been cheaper still.
• A few fares were in pounds or dollars; we converted them to euros.
